The truth is I've not been to a show yet, it's pretty hard when ya live 5-6 hours away.....but I know John! He's the one that introduced me to the site and stuff. Cool guy...sweet and funny (hehe). I do hope to get to a show soon....I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I think you guys rock! there is so much energy oozing off of John that it makes you want to join in with the air guitar...Tommys' bass is way to cool and funky to even describe with words! and that drummer! whew-eeee! he looks like animal up there...just goin to town without care in the world but the fluid staediness of his beat! but that sounds guy!!!!!!! um-um-um-um!!!!!!!!! yummy! Took my 13year old(guitarist)to see the James Montgomery Band at the xtremeriders gig. Your band blew us away. We couldn't believe the energy and sound you had. Loved the selection of songs as well. I hope to catch one of your next shows. You guys rock. PS... Lose the girl.

I cannot express how much Nick has ment to me over the years. No matter how down I was, Nick could make me laugh and lighten up. I need all your help. Please take a few moments over the next few weeks and write down who Nick was to you. His daughter needs our help to remember him. She is only a year old and deserves to know how loved her father is. I met Nick simply because he was the drummer in FingerCuff and I was a friend of his bassist. Like we all do every day when we meet people, I looked him in the eye and shook his hand.
But I never noticed his shoes…
Eventually, I became the guy that had to fill his “shoes” when I became FingerCuff’s next drummer. I always told him… “I’m the drummer now, but this is still *your* band.”
I said this because, while he had moved on to other projects, he would still come to a bunch of the gigs and, during breaks, talk to me about our approaches to the songs. In doing so, he himself had made it the easiest for me to fill his “shoes.” He helped me be a better drummer and more importantly, he never stopped supporting *his* band. Every time I wrap a stick in duct tape, I’ll remember why.
But, Nick Butler had so many other “shoes” to wear. I tried to fill his “shoes” as a drummer, sure… but I didn’t know how many other “shoes” he wore:
Husband.
Father.
Brother.
Son.
Musician.
Hockey Player.
Speed Skater.
Coach.
Cyclist.
Carpenter.
Motorcyclist.
Friend.
They always say, “Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes.”
We should all hope to travel as far in our own "shoes", as Nick Butler did in his.
I am overwhelmed and speechless... I am so incredibly sorry about Nick. So untimely, unexpected and such a tremendous loss of a great friend... Hy heart goes out to Christine and Samantha, as well as you guys...
I'm sure Nick will be riding with us in spirit during the Leukemia Run this Sunday. See you then .... Grizz
I did not know Nick as well as the rest of you but I know that he stole my best friends heart! I will always miss him and everyday that I look into his daughter Samantha's eyes I will always see his smiling charming face!! I love you Nick and will always be here to help Christine and Samantha!

Thanks to everyone that made it Breakaway Billiards this past Saturday. It was a tough show, but we pulled it off! Thanks for all the great comments, we love every single one of ya!! We really appreciate all the support for Nick's family. I know Nick was there that night, I could feel him pushing me to play harder and faster...Nick was rock and roll in every sense... Nick was like a brother to me, and I don't go a day without thinking about him....I'm going to make a point to rock twice as hard from now on for my bro.. Ride on Nick

I was at the Marlboro Fish & Game party on Saturday (10/28/06) night. You guys rocked!!! My friends and I had the best time; dancing non-stop. Can't wait to see another show! Liz
